TRUE OR FALSE?

1. We made a music video banned from YouTube for having too many naked men in it.

2. The amazing Steve Albini (Nirvana, Breeders, PJ Harvey) recorded most of the 10 tracks on our album we’re now releasing song by song.

3. We’re a Canadian band that’s aired on the BBC but not the CBC (yet!).

4. Bassist Jed played a show high as hell on morphine.

Answers: All true! (But the morphine was prescribed by a doctor for Jed’s broken
foot.) And you can see that NSFW video here

SOME REVIEWS

‘FEROCITY WE’VE COME TO LOVE’

Dish Pit, the British/Canadian hybrid that absolutely tore our face off with their single “Trash Queen”, followed it up with “1000 Days to Die” which proceeded to kick our face into the dirt. Now, having only just managed to staple the skin back upon our skull they return with new single “Seven”. Oh dear. The track retains the ferocity we’ve come to love from the trio, but there’s a patience and tension there that makes us really excited to dive into. We cannot wait to hear more. Sounds Good (UK)

‘DISHPIT CREATE THRILLING, GRUNGY ALT-ROCK’

“Having wowed audiences in the UK with festival appearances and some radio
play on BBC Introducing and Amazing Radio, Dishpit’s thrilling rock music is
gripping the two countries.” Indie Central Music (UK)

‘THIS IS DIRTY, MURKY, TONGUE IN CHEEK MUSIC’

“Fast as hell, lo-fi, surf rock infused slice of Canadian punk….This is dirty, murky, tongue in cheek music from an outfit that is equally happy with dissonance as it is with melody. The balance of light and dark…the sacred and the profane. Enjoy.”

- Overblown (UK)

‘ONE OF THE MOST EXPLOSIVE DEBUTS I’VE HEARD’

“This track has everything you could possibly want: frantic tempo, thunderous drums, heavy guitar riffs and lots and lots and lots of screeching and roaring vocals. It’s immense, and a real kick to the teeth. ‘Trash Queen’ is one of the most explosive debuts I’ve heard, and I’m an instant fan of Dishpit.” - Sounds Good (UK)

‘THEIR SOUND IS CHAOTIC, UNPREDICTABLE AND FILTHY’

“Forget your ‘Bucket List’. Montreal punk trio Dishpit have shared ‘1000 Ways To Die’ – a track which riotously explores the many reasons why millennials might be down in the dumps.” - Get In Her Ears (UK)

‘ESSENTIAL NEW RELEASE TO GET OBSESSED WITH’

“‘1000 Ways To Die’ pelts forward via screeching guitars reminiscent of Deap Vally and vocalist Nora Kelly’s gravelly, infectious vocal.” - DIY Mag (UK)

‘EACH TRACK MORE POTENT THAN THE NEXT’

Dish Pit’s provoked anger therapeutically unleashes a fresh air of sounds. Scuzzy guitar lines thrash the throaty tone while the tight percussion is enough to rile up your own blood.’ - Girl Underground Music (L.A.)

‘BECOMING THE VOICE OF A GENERATION’

“Dishpit are revivalists. They’re keeping alive the fiery punk rock and indie rock that occupied the ’70s and ’80s and performing it with the fearless abandon that Sonic Youth, The Ramones, and Dead Kennedys demonstrated in their youth. And like these great bands, Dish Pit’s new single is an awesome banger.

“Pay attention to Kelly’s words. She channels Kurt Cobain in describing the angst and depression that have infiltrated today’s youth. ‘Is it the hormones or the video games?’ she curtly asks to indicate that the issues are partially self-induced. All she knows is that too many young people are being lost. Fortunately for them and us, she and her bandmates, bassist Brianna and drummer Jack, are becoming the voice of a generation, just like Nirvana and Sonic Youth were for us.” - The Revue (Ottawa)

‘UNLEASHES POWER WITH CRASHING DRUMS, EXUBERANT TONES AND A HEFTY DOSE OF PUNK-GRUNGE’

“The Canadian rock outfit Dishpit are back on the scene and delighting with a new track. “Family Man” is a drawling, guitar-led cut that captures the soul of their live shows.” - XS Noize (UK)

‘DISHPIT WERE ONE OF THE WEEKEND’S BIG BUZZ BANDS’

“This Montreal-based three piece are a force. The tunes jack-knife sonically, keeping you glued in a futile attempt to pre-empty the direction.” - Liverpool Sound City Festival review in Get into This (UK)

‘FULL OF ENERGY AND DELIGHT’

“I was instantly slapped around the face by the wonderful Dishpit, a Canadian three piece not really giving two fucks about who was listening, but immersed in a noise that they enjoyed creating, full of energy and delight. I’ve always liked Canada, firstly because it’s not America and secondly because they know how to do music in their own way. Dishpit know how to do punk and garage rock in their own way.” - Liverpool Sound City Festival review in Gigs Pig (UK)

‘TOWERING PERFORMANCE’

“Up and coming Canadian grunge queens Dish Pit gave a powerful, towering performance…” - Liverpool Sound City Festival review in The VPME (UK)

‘A ROOM FULL OF PEOPLE EATING OUT OF THE PALMS OF THEIR HANDS AND BAYING FOR MORE CHAOS’

“Festivals like this allow you to discover brilliant bands. Nora, Jack and Brianna might seem like they're completely nuts, but by the end of the set they've got a room full of people eating out of the palms of their hands and baying for more chaos.” - Liverpool Sound City Festival Review in Even the Stars (UK)

“We want to show that women can be both angry and fun within music, a feminist punk band covering many political issues. This is going to sound extreme, but you know how people will say how they would be dead without music? Well, I feel like I have finally clued in on that this year.” – Nora in
